This was the deciding game in Group 1, and the only game due to Fr Matthews withdrawal. However, it lacked nothing in excitement or commitment as both teams fought to secure top spot.

U-18 M National Cup Game 2
Dawson once again opened well for Lakers and they raced into a 10-2 lead with three minutes to go in the first quarter. Magee led a charge for Queens to bring them back in touch and free throws from McGarry in the final seconds left the score tied 13 apiece at the end of the first quarter.

There was a tight start to the first game of the day in Tralee. Both teams were guilty of missing chances to pull away. Queens got into a 12-10 lead, thanks to a 3 pointer Ben Horner, and pushed on to a 16-10 lead.
