Writer for NBA Draft.com joins Team Cyprus
Is this your opportunity to be spotted by a scout? Chris Sumner comes to Belfast as his last chance to hone his skills before beginning his first basketball season on the island of Cyprus, where he will play with Queens Invitational teammate Joshua Motenko. Sumner hails from Washington D.C., U.S.A. and attended Mount St. Mary’s University, starting at PG all four years for their division 1 basketball team. Sumner is known for his smart defense and consistent shooting touch from beyond the three point arc. He likes to get his teammates involved in the flow of the offense early and push the tempo. Sumner may be the best floor general in the Queens Tournament this year and with him leading the way his PeacePlayers International squad will be tough to beat.

Nigerian Waves wont make it to shore
The Nigerian Bayelsa Waves unfortunately will not make the tournament this year. We were keen to see the youngsters in action, however due to logistical reasons they just would not be able to make the tournament on time. Filling the gap with short notice will be Queens Eagles, a solid UBA division one team with a couple of guests to help the squad, keeping the tournament a float with even teams in both pools. The Queens Pistions vs Queens Eagles game should be a cracker!

Charity donations
Dave Cullen is please to announce that there will be a donation made to two local charities. The Cormac Trust and the Belfast Homeless Centre..... On 22nd February 2004 Cormac McAnallen lifted the Dr McKenna Cup as the newly appointed Captain of the Tyrone Senior Gaelic Football Team. Nine days later Cormac died suddenly from a rare heart condition. There are numerous such rare heart conditions many of which have no symptoms. The Belfast Welcome Centre does vital work with the homeless in Belfast. They help individuals who have become victims of awful circumstances get back on their feet. The money will go towards funding a nurse visiting the centre on a daily basis. Thanks to everyone for their help.
